Nourishing Faith

A Lesson from Mark 8
Nourishing Faith → John 6:34, 48, 51, 53-57

Jesus is the bread of life. We eat this bread and eat this food again
and again. Indeed, we live on it (Him). Consequently, we become
what we eat, i.e., we become one with Jesus. He is in us, lives in us,
and lives through us. That is how the faith of Jesus becomes our faith.
This faith is not something we created with our own efforts. We ate it
and it has become a part of our body, soul, and mind. Faith in Jesus,
in this way, comes into us and become a part of us.

Jesus could have healed the man at once. But he didn't. “Once more Jesus put
His hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored,
and he saw everything clearly.” (25) Thisonce more” was for the disciples
who had failed their missions (Matthew 17:14-21) as well as for us to see that
God is willing to touch us “once more.” God is patient even if our hearts are so
hardened (17) that “once” won't do. Isn't it wonderful? This God is a loving God.
Love is patient (1Corinthians 13:4). The only thing that counts is, He demonstrates,
faith expressing itself through love. (Galatians 5:6)

Faith in Jesus, i.e. Jesus' faith, does just that. When we have this faith,
the mountains will move. (Matthew 17:20)
