Jesus became a curse for us

"May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"

- Numbers 24:9(Genesis 12:3;27:29)

Jesus, thus, became a curse for us (Galatians 3:13).
He did not hesitate to curse the fig tree (Mark 11:12-14).

He did not curse it (a symbol of Israel) simply out of petulance or peevishness.
He did what God had promised to do (Hosea 9:10&16).

Because He was - only He alone could be - willing to take on Himself the curse
of the law (Numbers 23:22).

In order to redeem us, by abandoning Himself for us to it, even to the death
on the tree (Deuteronomy 21:23), He did it.

It's not petulancy. It's love. Overwhelmingly deep and wide, love of God.
